It’s not just an opportunity for those who are designers or artists or have a huge social media fan following. It’s for everyone. Anyone can create their Amazon Merch account.
Once you join, simply upload the artwork, choose the type of product you would like to sell and there you go. You will have to wait for Amazon to approve your design though. But once that’s out of the way, they will create a listing for you.
After this, your job is to sell the product. Amazon will handle the printing, product shipping, and even customer service! Plus, you will be earning royalties. A wonderful opportunity isn’t it!

What’s the earning potential?

The royalty rates range from 13 to 37 percent. So here is how it works. Once some one buys an item, it is sent to the customer and you earn a royalty for the sale. This amount is minus the tax and the provider’s costs.
There is a limit to the number of products one can create and sell. If you are starting as a new, you would be allowed to make 10 submissions at once. As your sales increase, the number of designs you can submit will increase. There are tiers for each seller. Once you complete the 10 sales, you are moving on tier 2. So based on your tier, you would be able to sell 10, 25, 100, and then 500 products.

To receive an invitation, you must visit and create account on Amazon website and hit the “Request Invitation” button. After this, you need to fill an application form and explain why the platform should consider you for the invitation.
Once done, you are placed on the waiting list. Since so many sellers are applying, sometimes, it can even take 6 months to get accepted!

To have your invitation accepted, you must give the provider as much information as possible. Be transparent so that they know you are a serious seller. That’s all that they need. Here are some tips to increase your chances of approval:
Link your designs to show your print-on-demand experience (if applicable)

Explain how will you be promoting your designs and selling to the giant’s audience
Include 5 to 10 original creatives to make your application attractive
Don’t forget to trademark these designs
All of these aren’t mandatory. They will just make your application stand out and boost the chances of getting it through.
