How to check computer for Windows 11. Easy compatibility check.

Windows 11 is on the roll. There are many new tools in Windows 11. Anybody wants to try, test and use this new operating system. But wait, not all computer systems can run Microsoft Windows 11. You need to go through a Windows 11 compatibility check. Here in this post simply describes how you can check if your computer can run Windows 11 or not. Keep reading. 

What are Windows 11 minimum system requirements?

Microsoft has designed new Windows 11 keeping in mind a lot of things that include security, compatibility and reliability. So it has more compact features and needs some minimum system requirements.

Some changes in Windows 11 from Windows 10.

There are a lot of minor changes in Windows 11 that of Windows 10. Windows 11 is a more compact version of Microsoft Windows operating system and it is more secure and reliable. The operating system supports many more new technologies including 5G. Thus it has more changes in terms of functionalities and the features. However you can notice the below changes easily and quickly as you upgrade to Windows 11.

  1. No Internet Explorer any more. The default browser is now Microsoft Edge.
  2. No tablet mode is available but new functionality is added to attach and detach the keyboard.
  3.  Cotrona will not be there in the first boot experience and will not be pinned to the taskbar.
  4. Wallet is no longer available.
  5. Taskbar and some of the system tray icons will not be there.

These are the major changes that you notice as you jump to Windows 11. But there are many minor changes that make Windows 11 more secure and reliable. You will notice each and everything as you are likely to use Windows 11 more often.

Process to check if your computer can run Windows 11 or not.

Most common problem for not being able to run Windows 11 is the TPM or the secure boot not enabled. If your computer has TPM 2.0 it is sure that you can enable secure boot. So you will check the following.

Storage must be ok as each computer comes with a minimum of 128 GB storage. Though you can check going to your drive.

To check RAM and Processor go to  “This PC” on your desktop and right click on it. Check processor and RAM. Processor more than 1.0 GHZ, 64 bit and RAM 4GB or higher. Take a look at the below screenshot.

Time to check TPM: Press windows Key + R then type “tpm.msc” If TPM is not supported you will see a “TPM not supported” message. If TPM is supported you will get the below screen. Please make sure TPM is 2.0 or more. You can check this at the bottom right corner “Specification Version: 2.0”.

However, Microsoft will provide PC health check tools again. Maybe due to some error it is not available now. But when Windows 11 is finally out for general public, PC health test probably will be there. You can get free upgrade from Windows 10 if your computer is compatible. However you must know that you must be using genuine operating system and you must activate Windows 10.
