Steps to Backup Gmail Emails to Another Gmail Account.
You may use lot of Gmail backup tool for Gmail backup and restore but this process is automate and very simple. Without using any tools and add on we can simply import email to Gmail.
While running out of low space in your old Gmail account, you need new Gmail email account. So very first step is to sign up for the new Gmail account. You can simply create the new Gmail account on the Google sign up page.
Once you create the new Gmail account, Go to new Gmail account and login with your username and password.
Once you are logged in to your new Gmail account. Locate to the top right corner and click on the gear icon for setting.
And the click on settings from the drop down as shown in the above image.
You will be taken into the settings window
Now click on the ‘Accounts and Import’ tab
Then click on the ‘Import mail and contacts’ down below
You will see the following dialog box
Type in the old Gmail email address, from where you want to copy your emails.
And then click on continue.
You will see the following dialog box as Google will check the details of accounts to import.
Once Google finishes the checking the account, it will ask you to login to the old Gmail account.
Please note that you need to login to the old account here from which you wish to backup emails.
How the process of backup Gmail emails to another Gmail account Works?
All the process takes place in the cloud and you do not need any add on or extension to do this. Google has implemented the third party vendor ShuttleCloud Migration to handle the Gmail migration process. So you need to allow ShuttleCloud Migration to access your Google account.
Continue With the Backup Steps
Once you are about to log in to your old Gmail account you will see the following dialog box.
So click on allow on that dialog box as shown in the above image.
But never mind you can always revoke access to this permission by visiting the following link
Once authentication is successful, you will see the following dialog box asking you to close the window to continue.
Close the window and once you do this it will check and continue to sign in to your other(old) Gmail account.
When signed in the other Gmail account, you will see the following windows to check and confirm what to import.
You can import contacts, old emails and even schedule the import of new email that arrives into your new Gmail on next 30 days.
Choose what to import and click on Start import.
Now the backup Gmail emails to another Gmail account has been started. You will see the following dialog box.
As it says it can take several hours and sometime several days to completely import the emails from your old Gmail to new Gmail account. But you can always close this dialog box and keep using your both the Gmail accounts.
Click OK to close the dialog box and keep using Gmail accounts.
Once all the emails are imported, you will see the new label in your new Gmail account. And all the emails that are imported from old Gmail are under that label. And also the folder structure of that old emails are under this new label.
That’s it. Finally you have successfully backed up all your emails to the new email account. Now you can simply go to your old Gmail account and delete all your emails to free up the space.
